SEO & AI Search Readiness Audit: Find Out Why You Are Not Getting Found or Cited
Two ways in: a free self-assessment you can run in minutes, or a full expert diagnosis with a roadmap your team can build from.
Your Site Looks Fine. So Why Is Nobody Finding It?
A website can look completely finished and still be invisible. The pages load, the design is current, nothing appears broken, and yet the site ranks for nothing that matters and never appears in the AI answers your buyers now use to build a shortlist. That is not bad luck and it is rarely a bug. It is a mismatch between how your site is built and how people actually search. A WorkMatix audit finds where that mismatch sits, tells you what it is costing you, and gives you a prioritized order to fix it in. You can start with the free self-assessment today, or go straight to the full expert audit if a redesign or content overhaul is already on the table.
The Audit That Tells You What to Fix First
Find out where your site stands before you invest in fixing it.
The search readiness audit is the clearest place to start, because it tells you what is wrong, what it is costing you, and what to fix first. WorkMatix reviews your site through three lenses:
- Lens 1 Intent Alignment, whether your pages match what buyers are actually searching for;
- Lens 2 SEO Fundamentals, whether search engines can find, crawl, and understand them;
- Lens 3 AEO Readiness, whether AI systems can quote them.
You leave with a prioritized roadmap you own outright, whether or not you ever work with us again. A free self-assessment is available first if you want a read on your site before committing to the full audit.
Find Out Where Your Website Actually Stands in Search and AI
Start free and see the shape of the problem, or book the full audit and get the documented plan.
Know exactly where you stand
Stop guessing whether your SEO problem is technical, structural, or about content. You get a specific answer tied to specific pages, not a generic score.
A fix list in priority order
Not two hundred issues ranked by a tool. A short list separating the quick wins from the structural work, so the first thing you do is the thing that matters most.
See what AI systems see
Find out whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews can actually read and quote your pages, or whether they skip you and cite a competitor instead.
Protect what already works
Before you redesign or overhaul, know which pages are earning your traffic. That list is what stops a launch quietly deleting years of accumulated authority.
Something you can show your CEO
A written diagnosis and a documented plan. You walk into the next review with evidence and a sequence, rather than a request for budget and a hope.
A roadmap you own
The findings are yours whether or not you ever work with WorkMatix. Run it in-house, hand it to your agency, or bring us in. The diagnosis does not change based on who executes it.
Free Audit: the Search Journey Alignment Audit
If you have ever looked at your website thinking “something is off here and I do not know where to start,” this is built for exactly that moment. The Search Journey Alignment Audit is a short, self-guided assessment that scores your site against the three stages of the buyer’s search journey: Stage 1 Information Search & Exploration, Stage 2 Consideration, Comparison & Evaluation, and Stage 3 Decision (Purchase or Action). It takes a few minutes, there is no call and no card, and you get your result immediately.
This is not a “your SEO score is 62” gimmick. A number tells you nothing you can act on. Instead you get a stage-by-stage read showing which part of the journey your site is failing, a short prioritized list of what to fix first rather than a two-hundred-item report nobody opens, and a clear recommended next step matched to what your site actually needs.
Paid Audit: the expert SEO & AI Search Audit
The paid audit is a full diagnosis run by Julia Gordeeva, and it exists for the moments when guessing gets expensive: a redesign, a migration, or a content overhaul where the site is a primary source of pipeline. Your site is read through three lenses.
- Lens 1, Intent Alignment: do your pages match what buyers are genuinely searching for, stage by stage?
- Lens 2, SEO Fundamentals: can search engines and AI systems reach, crawl, and understand what you have built?
- Lens 3, AEO Readiness: is your content structured so AI systems can quote it and attribute it to you?
You do not walk away with advice. You walk away with documents your team can execute from: a full diagnosis across all three lenses, a prioritized roadmap saying what to fix, in what order, and why, and a defensible written starting point you can put in front of a CEO or a board. Exact scope, deliverables, and price are agreed on a short scoping call, so you pay for the depth you actually need rather than a fixed package that half fits.
How the 2 audits connect, and why to do either
One diagnosis, two depths
The free audit and the paid audit look at the same site through the same three lenses. The difference is depth and output.
The free assessment tells you the shape of the problem. You answer questions about your own site and get a scored read on where the journey breaks down, which is enough to know whether your issue is intent, structure, or AI readiness.
The paid audit produces the evidence and the plan. Julia examines your actual pages, rankings, and competitors, and hands you the documentation.
Most people start free. It costs nothing, it takes minutes, and it is genuinely useful on its own. It also makes the paid audit better if you go on to book one, because your completed assessment becomes the Intent Alignment input rather than something we have to reconstruct from scratch.
Why diagnose before you build
Because the alternative is paying twice. A redesign launched on assumptions can lose a large share of its organic traffic on launch day, and recovery takes months the project never budgeted for. Content written for the wrong intent ranks for nothing and cannot be rescued by promotion. Schema added at the end of a build, rather than designed into it, rarely produces the citations it was meant to.
Every one of those is cheap to prevent and expensive to reverse. An audit is the cheapest step in the entire project and the only one that tells you which of the others are worth doing. Learn more about tracking search visibility in AI Overviews and LLMs.
What Our consulting Clients are Saying…
Who Is Reviewing Your Site?
An audit is only as good as the judgment behind it, since anyone can run a crawl and hand you a list of four hundred issues. Julia Gordeeva reads your site the way your buyer does first, then the way a search engine does, then the way an AI system does.
Eighteen years in B2B search is what makes the difference between a report that lists everything and a report that tells you honestly which three things actually matter.
Not QUITE READY?
Prefer to Learn It Rather Than Hand It Over
Not everyone wants an agency running their campaigns, and that is a legitimate choice. If you would rather understand how search works well enough to make these decisions yourself, WorkMatix teaches the same SEO-nergy methodology through coaching, live workshops, and team training. Some clients start there and bring us in later for the parts they would rather not do in-house. Others learn it once and never need us again, which is a fine outcome too.
Frequently Asked Questions About Website SEO and AI Search Readiness Audit
Straight answers to what businesses ask before starting an engagement. If yours is not here, ask us directly.
What is the difference between the free assessment and the paid audit?
The free self-assessment is a short guided questionnaire that gives you a directional read on where your site is weakest. The paid audit is a hands-on review of your actual site, your actual rankings, and your actual competitors, producing specific findings tied to specific pages. The free version tells you roughly which of the three lenses to worry about. The paid version tells you which pages to fix and in what order.
What are the three lenses?
Lens 1 – Intent Alignment asks whether your pages answer what buyers are genuinely searching for at each stage of their journey.
Lens 2 – SEO Fundamentals covers the technical and structural basics: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, and page-level optimization.
Lens 3 – AEO Readiness assesses whether AI systems can extract and cite your content, which depends on answer structure and schema. A site can pass one and fail the others, which is why all three get reviewed.
What do I actually receive?
You receive a written report of findings organised by lens, a prioritized fix list separating quick wins from structural work, and a roadmap sequencing what to do over the following months. It is written to be handed to a developer or a marketing team and acted on directly, not to be interpreted by us. The document is yours to keep and use however you like.
Do I have to hire you to fix what the audit finds?
No, and the audit is deliberately built to be useful on its own. Many clients take the roadmap and execute it in-house, which is a perfectly good outcome. Others bring us in for the parts they would rather not do themselves. The findings do not change based on which you choose.
How long does it take?
A full audit typically takes two to three weeks from kickoff, depending on the size of the site and how much historical data is available. Larger sites with thousands of pages take longer, because sampling has to be broad enough to be representative. You get the report and a walkthrough session, so the findings are explained rather than just delivered.
My rankings are fine. Do I still need this?
Stable rankings and declining clicks is the most common pattern we see right now, and it is exactly what an audit is built to diagnose. AI answers increasingly satisfy the query on the results page, so a page can hold position three and lose traffic anyway. If your rankings are steady but enquiries are not, the problem is usually in Lens 1 or Lens 3, and neither shows up in a rankings report.
